The Zone Defense

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

We’re all home and adjusting to life with Baby Levi who is, in my personal opinion, very cute. This is good because I spend a lot of time with him. And, he can be very demanding. The boys seem to be pretty ok with the new addition. Of course, they can’t say his name, but Weevi or Leebi (depending on who you talk to) is so far so good. Now that the chidren outnumber the parents, we are moving to what one friend calls, the zone defense. When it’s two on two, you do man to man and it’s fairly simple. Now that we’re working the zone, someone is always double teamed. The trick is to keep the kids from realizing that they could take over the ship at any minute. Mutiny is what I fear. Hopefully they won’t catch on to this reality until they’re old and have kids of their own. Who knows what the future holds!?!

A Few More Pics

Levi is doing great. The docs said he’s very healthy. Praise God! All the nurses, with widening eyes, admire and praise his mother when they look at his birth weight.

Pic: Sweetly Sleeping – He is quite the natural talent at this!

We should be home tomorrow afternoon.

The ‘Weight’ is Over!! (or in)

Friday, August 17th, 2007

Levi Adam Davidson has arrived! And in typical Davidson style, he is already “headed” for the “head” of the class – weight class and in head circumference, that is.

Lin and Levi

Actually, we have a near perfect guess in the length/weight contest…

Mo Murphy missed perfection by .5 inches.

Levi came in at 9lbs 5oz – 22.5 inches.

Lindy did great. He was out only about 20 minutes after the real fun began.

Here’s a video (QuickTime) of the “little” guy: 5 minutes in.

To pass the time

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007

Ok, here’s a way to pass the time until Friday (or maybe sooner). You can comment on this post and guess the weight and length of the baby. To make it fair for everyone, Aaron was born a day after his due date at 9 lbs. 8 oz. and 22.5 inches. Will was 9 weeks early, 3 lbs. 7 oz. and 16.5 inches. The one who guesses closest gets… of course, bragging rights! :)

Still Waiting

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

Although I’ve had many calls from people trying to will this baby out of me, I am still very much pregnant. If you were afraid you missed the big event, you have not (unless I have too which I find highly unlikely.) I’m sure this kid will weigh a veritable ton given the copious amounts of ice cream, cookies, enchiladas, peanut butter and jelly, etc. I’ve consumed of late, but one way or the other, he’s going to be here by Friday. My appt. is at 6am Friday morning for an induction, so no more waiting after that. Until then, or perhaps a kinder, gentler earlier arrival, I will continue answering the phone, “Hello, this is Lindy and no, I have not had the baby yet.” Lindy and Baby

Turning Heads

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

I’m beginning to feel for people who can’t go anywhere unnoticed. What if a simple trip to the grocery store caused a stir or heads turned to watch you walk past wherever you went? Unless you look absolutely fabulous and you know people are admiring your exquisite taste, it’s a bit unnerving. This has been my experience of late. Now, when I go out in public, people watch me with eyes wide. If they are standing and I walk by, they take two steps back. Some almost bow to make way for me. Many smile, some laugh, and some say things like “wow!” This might be flattering if it weren’t for the fact that they are all staring at my ginormous belly. My friend “Trixie” says that people are watching to see if I go into labor. They’re concerned about having to be first responders. I really wanted to ask the bag boy at the grocery the other day if he was trained to deliver babies, you know, just in case. He was only about 16 though, and I didn’t want to scar him for life. So, until I pop this kid out, I guess I’ll be drawing stares like flies at a picnic.

48 Hour Film Project

Saturday, August 4th, 2007

No baby yet. Eleven more days and counting. However, while I am here playing the waiting game, Adam is in Jacksonville with a team doing the 48 hour film project. They have a team of people who compete by making a short film (about 5 min.) in an assigned genre with one assigned line of dialogue and one mandatory prop. They draw their genre and find out the prop and line at 7 pm Friday and they have until 7 pm Sunday to turn in their finished product. It seems very exciting and I would love to participate except that I am not exactly able to travel right now nor am I worth much in the work/stay awake for any length of time category. Not sure what the food budget is, but I’m sure I’d put them over :) So my mom is here with me and the boys, and Adam is there and as soon as he gets back I’m starting my “walk until you have a baby” program. Hopefully I’ll be able to report a new Davidson soon. If you want to see the blog on the team Adam is on for the film project, click HERE.
